About the event

A story practice at work (shop)

Bring your work to life (and the ways you talk about it) by leveraging the power of story! This interactive and participatory workshop shows you how story listening, story finding, and story telling can help you build connections with colleagues, clients, and collaborators at work.

You will have the chance to tell a couple stories, and give and receive feedback on your stories and those of your fellow workshop participants.

Come with at least one idea for a story to tell! (one which shows you at work, solving a challenge).

You will leave with a pocket full of stories, and learn how to be on the lookout for more stoires and contexts in which to tell them.

Not only will you have (and continue to find) more stories about yourself to have at the ready for meetings, presentations, pitches, networking interactions and job interviews, but you will be better able to elicit them from others, including creating contexts for story that will enrich and enhance the way you work!

Story listneing and story telling help you to recognize and get recognized, to remember and be remembered because becoming more aware of the stories you tell (and hear) about work helps you better craft stories that showcase the unique ways in which you solve problems that highlilght your skills, gifts, and abilities.

But as you will experience, the real gift of a story practice lies in the transformative potential of story finding, and the new ways of thinking (including ways of approaching challenges) that this cultivates.

No previous experience with storytelling required, and we're keeping the group small to allow plenty of time for each person to tell!

Lunch will be provided.
